Planting trees in the rain this morning!
Crieff Hills thanks the wonderful group of assistants from L'Arche Hamilton for planting trees around the labyrinth and near the prayer shelter.
These new assistants living in the L'Arche community in Hamilton are from as far away as France and Brazil, and from as close as just down the road from Crieff.
L'Arche is an international organization, started by Jean Vanier, and there are over 140 communities around the world.
L'Arche Hamilton transforms lives through a community-based approach in providing supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Founded on the principles of welcome and inclusion, the community provides daily living and employment support, as well as a Creative Arts program to people with developmental disabilities.
Trees planted today by the L'Arche assistants include Kentucky coffeetree, Hackberry, Mulberry, Chinquapin Oak and native American Mountain Ash.
Native species planting at Crieff is supported by TD Friends of the Environment.
Special thanks the Robertson family and especially to David for demonstrating the tree planting process this morning.
