Join us for a day in the country
Enjoying the outdoors is a safe and healthy activity, and we invite you to enjoy our beautiful grounds! We have private picnic areas set up for you around the property with plenty of outdoor green space. Each one is equipped with 2 picnic tables, a clean bathroom for your exclusive use, and access to our grounds all day. A number of sites have an outdoor fire pit with free firewood provided, some include a hike into the woods, and there are two barrier-free locations, too. All guests must be registered with name and contact information at the time of arrival. Please reserve your picnic spot and your lunch 24 hours in advance.
Cost: The registration fee is $10 per person, and will give you access to a large, clean, well-equipped space for the whole day, from 10 am to 3pm. Lunch is an additional cost (see below).
Ordering and Payment: Click on the Order Now button below. The safest method of payment is sending an e-transfer to [email protected] (mark it 'Picnic') If this is not possible for you, please indicate this in your order and we can arrange credit card payment. Email is the best way to reach us.
How many guests are allowed? The number of guests in each group is determined by the provincial health authorities. Right now this means one household, or ten people who properly practice social distancing.
What should I bring with me? You may wish to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, sunscreen and bug spray, a frisbee, ball or outdoor games, a good book to read or a first aid kit/hand sanitizer.
Barrier free locations: Two drive-in spaces are available with access to a barrier free restroom (Maclean Hall and Pines).
Can I use the trails? Orange, yellow or green trails may be reserved ahead of time at no extra cost. The red trail remains closed at all times due to tree safety concerns.
Can I use the labyrinth? Yes. As a shared space, please keep the area quiet and maintain social distancing.
Chef Damien is offering two delicious lunch options for takeout, available from Thursday to Saturday. Each lunch serves one adult, and a children’s option is available as well. Servings are generous, and ingredients will vary slightly throughout the summer as we serve the freshest produce from our gardens. A clean and contactless payment and pickup will be set up at Maclean Hall. Lunches must be reserved 24 hours before arrival.
Your picnic lunch will have everything you need packed in an insulated bag: utensils, napkins, plates, and glasses. Reusable items should be dropped off on the porch at Maclean Hall when you leave.
