DAY EVENTS
Throughout the year we host unique experiences on our culinary farm. Meet our farmers, learn about how and what we grow and then tuck into a four course plated meal prepared by our team of experienced chefs. These are small-scale, authentic evenings you won't find anywhere else.
New! - National Day of Truth & Reconciliation - Sept.30
On this important day of reflection and learning, Crieff Hills invites you to walk a new Storytime Trail featuring On the Trapline, a picture book celebrating Indigenous culture and tradition. In this all-ages literary installation, you will follow a wooded path reading the story with large story pages displayed one at a time along the way. You also may enjoy hiking the trails or visiting the farm while you're here. Normal day fees are waived for the day and donations will be received for the Woodland Cultural Centre. This event is open from 9am until dusk and will go ahead rain or shine. Sturdy footwear is advised and does are welcome but must be on a leash at all times.
On The Trapline by David A. Robertson illustrated by Julie Flett
A boy and Moshom, his grandpa, take a trip together to visit a place of great meaning to Moshom. A trapline is where people hunt and live off the land, and it was where Moshom grew up. As they embark on their northern journey, the child repeatedly asks his grandfather, “Is this your trapline?” Along the way, the boy finds himself imagining what life was like two generations ago — a life that appears to be both different from and similar to his life now. This is a heartfelt story about memory, imagination and intergenerational connection that perfectly captures the experience of a young child’s wonder as he is introduced to places and stories that hold meaning for his family. Winner of the 2021 Governor General's Literary Award for Young People's Literature.

Winter Solstice Labyrinth Walk - Dec. 21
Mark the longest night of the year with a quiet candlelight experience at the Winter Solstice Labyrinth Walk December 21 from 5 to 6:30 pm. When you arrive you will be given a lantern to carry and directed to follow the path lit by vintage kerosene lanterns. After a brief introduction to the labyrinth, you will enter the meditative walk and move at your own pace. A bonfire in the centre offers an opportunity to pause and collect your thoughts or warm your hands. This is the perfect time to consider themes of light and darkness or mark the end of one year and the beginning of the next. Because it is all outdoors, be sure to dress for the weather. Sturdy footwear is also recommended. No registration is required. Park in the large parking lot when you arrive. Suggested donation of $10 per person which can be offered in cash on arrival or via e-transfer to accounting@crieffhills.com, marked "labyrinth".
